These strange trees grow in water and can be found anywhere the land is low and the climate is wet. Unlike most trees, they can tolerate salt, and so are often found where rivers meet the sea. In warm weather, algae blooms in the water, turning it brilliant shades of green, orange, or even hot pink. Traversing the glade on foot is dicult if not impossible, but canoes can easily slip between the massive, tangled root structures.
For those that duck below the water's surface, however, an entirely dierent world is revealed. The roots form tangled structures that look like eldritch architecture; soft kelp forms a carpet; and sh and other creatures it around. The sun, dappling through the leaves overhead, rarely makes it down this far, creating heavy patches of shadow.
