The adventurers discover a horde of resilient and pervasive pests crawling throughout their supplies! These vermin aren’t just tough, they are particularly dangerous and disturbing them provokes a violent response.
## Possible Solutions
An [[03-Mechanics/6-Ability Scores/Animal Handling|Animal Handling]] check drives the pests away from the provisions, or a [[03-Mechanics/6-Ability Scores/Nature|Nature]] check locates a tastier treat to lure the pests away.
**Critical Failure.** All of the party’s food and water are ruined — each adventurer loses all of their Supply Dice and gains 1 level of fatigue. Any characters with no Supply Dice to lose instead gain 2 levels of fatigue. In addition, the party is attacked by 7 (2d4+2) swarms of rats.
**Failure.** An hour after the adventurers next consume any of their Supply (they take a rest, or they stop travel for the evening), they are poisoned for 24 hours and realize the pests spoiled it. Each adventurer loses 4 (1d6+1) Supply Dice. Those unable to pay this penalty gain 1 level of fatigue.
**Success.** The adventurers deal with the pests without losing any Supply Dice.
