*2nd tier (circumstance)* **Challenge:** 8 (3,900 XP) **DC:** 17/15 **Area:** Local (1 hour) The whole town is involved in a production that involves quite a few special effects, rendering it rather more risky than your standard gathering. #### Avoidable The party can go around the village, which adds three hours to their travel time, or attempt to navigate through it. #### Public If characters are attempting to sneak through the town, they do so at disadvantage unless disguised. ## **Possible** **Solutions** The production is a changeable one, rendering the threats to the party fairly varied. For every ten minutes that the party spends making their way through the festivities, roll 1d6 and consult the table below: | d6 | Event | Solution | | --- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | 1 | A heavy piece of scenery is on a block and tackle rig; the wrong move will release it early, dealing 4d10 bludgeoning damage. | [[03-Mechanics/6-Ability Scores/Engineering\|Engineering]] or [[03-Mechanics/6-Ability Scores/Acrobatics\|Acrobatics]] | | 2 | Fireworks display! If the party stands too close, they will be blinded and deafened for 1d10 minutes. | [[03-Mechanics/6-Ability Scores/Engineering\|Engineering]], Constitution save to resist effects | | 3 | The party is mistaken for actors, delaying them by an hour. | [[03-Mechanics/6-Ability Scores/Persuasion\|Persuasion]] or [[03-Mechanics/6-Ability Scores/Intimidation\|Intimidation]] to explain | | 4 | A musical act is underway, magically amplified. | [[03-Mechanics/6-Ability Scores/Performance\|Performance]] to cross the dancers; Constitution save vs. deafened for one minute to go behind | | 5-6 | A lively party, but nothing of difficulty. | None | #### Pucks The name "puck" refers to a type of fey, rather than an individual. However, to avoid the hostility of those they have transformed, confused, mocked, or otherwise hassled, they all tend to give their name as, simply, Puck. This has resulted in a great deal of confusion when someone attempts to hold a puck accountable, as they simply answer that no, it was the other Puck, and they can't possibly have done such a thing. Whether or not the puck actually did the deed in question has no bearing on this answer. As this behavior would indicate, pucks tend towards mischief, with a penchant for making even bigger fools of the already foolish. However, they are not malicious so much as insensitive, and if they realize that they have, in truth, hurt someone, they are likely to make amends. ___ **Source:** Stranger Sites
