The River Nuria is very deep, and the bottom is murky and thick with debris and flora. It takes 8 minutes to reach the bottom without complications. Characters need a light source that won’t be put out by water to properly navigate the bottom of the river. Characters not using Ba’ryahd’s diving equipment also need something heavy to help them descend. Each creature without proper diving equipment or weight to help reach the bottom must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or suffer 1 level of exhaustion as it fights the current and its own buoyancy to reach the riverbed. A creature without a light source or darkvision must pair up with another creature that has one of these, and either follow closely or hang onto them. A creature guiding or holding another must succeed on a DC 12 Strength (Athletics) check suffer 1 level of exhaustion.
