By acting as the party’s cook and quartermaster, with a cook’s utensils or [[Survival]] check an adventurer can stretch what the party has available, helping ensure that everybody remains fed. **Time:** The adventurer must spend one week undertaking this activity. >[!note] This activity is limited to once per region, and only a single character can perform this activity for each region. ***Requirement:** Including the cook, any character choosing to be involved must pay one of the two costs listed below. Those unable to pay this cost up front are unable to select (or join the cook in) this Journey Activity.* The cook needs supplies to begin work on this endeavor. The cook, and any additional party members wishing to participate, must each choose which of the following costs to pay up front: 1. Pay 1 Hit Die, with the goal of converting it to 2 Supply Dice which expire after the current Journey. 2. Pay 1 Supply Die, with the goal of converting it to 2 Supply Dice which expire after the current Journey. ___ The [[03-Mechanics/6-Ability Scores/Survival|Survival]] or Cook’s Utensils check results are the same regardless of the cost: **Critical Failure.** Each character involved loses 1 additional Supply Die (even if they paid with a Hit Die).
