Through holy water, incense, or prayer, an adventurer can work towards cleansing the dungeon of evil’s influence with a [[03-Mechanics/6-Ability Scores/Religion|Religion]] check. Adventurers can also alter this process to affect outsiders of a different alignment, though it would then have no effects on undead.
- **Critical Failure.** The adventurer makes a critical error during the cleansing. Undead and evil outsiders gain an expertise die on Perception and Investigation checks to locate the party in the dungeon.
- **Failure.** The adventurer’s cleansing has no effect.
- **Success.** Undead and evil outsiders are rattled while within 10 feet of the adventurer.
- **Critical Success.** In addition to the benefits of a success, the adventurer and their party gains a bonus to saving throws against the abilities of undead and evil outsiders equal to the adventurer’s Wisdom bonus while they are within 10 feet of the adventurer.
