If you disguise yourself as an authority figure, you gain an expertise die to persuade others. **Xanathar's Other Uses:** - **Create Disguise.** As part of a long rest, you can create a disguise. It takes you 1 minute to don such a disguise once you have created it. You can carry only one such disguise on you at a time without drawing undue attention, unless you have a *bag of holding* or a similar method to keep them hidden. Each disguise weighs 1 pound. Outside of a long rest, it takes 10 minutes to craft a disguise that involves moderate changes to your appearance, and 30 minutes for one that requires more extensive changes. | Activity | DC | | ------------------------------------------ | --- | | Cover injuries or distinguishing marks | 10 | | Spot a disguise being used by someone else | 15 | | Copy a humanoid’s appearance | 20 | # Master Disguise Kit 45 gp, 25 lb. Skill with a disguise kit allows one to more easily step into the role of someone else. As a wise performer once said, “We are all born naked, and the rest is just a disguise.” ### Components A horsehair wig, soap, a set each of common, fine, and traveler's clothes, robes, a hand mirror, temporary hair dye, various cosmetics and makeup, washable paint, fake blood, and a box of 10 small accessories of your choosing (such as an eyepatch, sling bandage, a set of fake teeth, or costume jewelry). ### Special Uses **Fabricate.** As part of a long rest, you can prepare a specialized convincing disguise. The specialized disguise might include ensuring that it will hold up during physical activity or setting it up to be torn away and stashed or discarded at a moment's notice. Applying a prepared disguise takes one minute. You might also wish to conceal a number of small items, such as daggers, within the disguise. You may conceal a number of small items within your disguise equal to your proficiency bonus. **Body Double.** You are skilled with cosmetics, and have experience using contouring makeup to transform a face. You may take 10 minutes to apply detailed makeup to a person’s face, making them look like someone else. While made-up, a creature gains advantage on Deception (CHA) checks made to convince others of their assumed identity. To discern that they are disguised, a creature can use its action to inspect their appearance and must succeed on an Investigation (INT) check, contested against your Deception (CHA) result. Close contacts of the person being imitated have advantage on this check.
