A flash of brilliant light, sparkling spell effects, or sudden exposure to sunlight—all of these could result in a creature being dazzled:
- A dazzled creature has disadvantage on ability checks that require sight.
- A dazzled creature cannot take reactions.
- Creatures that are immune to being blinded are immune to being dazzled.
- If this condition is inflicted by nonmagical environmental means (such as initial exposure to sunlight after being underground for an extended period of time), it persists for 1 round before dissipating.
