The Vault of Daoud is renowned throughout the Baklunish lands although few outside these realms know if it. Although Daoud is most often associated with the nation of Tusmit, the vault is located in the Souk Ward of the city of Lopolla in Ket, as it is here that Daoud fled when he was exiled from Tusmit and it is here that he received his divine inspiration and began his holy works.
The vault is rumoured to be the most secure facility in eastern Oerik. It consists of a series of chambers, each protected by legendary magical locks, wards and glyphs. Within the vault, the Church of Daoud stores its most valuable relics and artifacts as well as being its operational treasury. Daoud believed in leading by example and the first items to be deposited into the vault were his own personal possessions, including a number of powerful magical artifacts brought with him from Tusmit.
Today, the vault is a high holy place and a pilgrimage site for the faithful. In fact, all those who takes up the cleric’s mantle in the name of Daoud must donate all of their worldly goods to the Church for redistribution to the poor. Because of this requirement the Vault of Daoud is routinely full of great wealth although only one person has ever managed to breach its wards and make off with any of its treasures.
The faith of Daoud teaches Honesty, Humility, Piety and Endurance. This philosophy is known as the *Path of the Seeker*. Daoud teaches his followers to seek fortune both good and bad to unravel the cloth of fate. He teaches them to make peace with the allowances and demands of fate.
