![[BaklunishCliffs.webp]] The Baklunish West sees relatively moist, cold to cool winters and dry, warm to hot summers. The northern realms - Ekbir, Zeif, and Tusmit have relatively cool climates - cooler than most of the Flanaess, even taking into account the influence of the unnaturally warm Dramidj Ocean. The climate and biomes of these lands is nothing like Arabia or Persia, but instead resemble the lands bordering the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. In winter, they see freezing temperatures and the coasts receive ocean-effect snows. These snows allow for moist forest biomes along the coasts, rather than the relatively dry steppes that predominate inland. Warm ocean currents keep the coasts of Ekbir ice free. Summer in the northern realms is mild in the north and warm in the south. Frontal rains here are weak at best and often absent, since hot continental air carries little moisture. Therefore the summer months are relatively dry. The return of the north-easterly winds in autumn brings cool, rainy weather once more. Compared to most of the Flanaess, the Baklunish lands are relatively dry.
