![[gord tortle.png|500]] Ataphadi adventurers are extremely rare and there are no formal adventuring guilds known to exist within the confederacy either above or below the waves. While it is not unknown for adventuring bands to form with the intent of exploring submerged ruins and cavern complexes, finding them above the waves is a rare occurrence. Triton, sea elf, and locathah characters from the Ataphad Confederacy are most typically fighters, druids and rangers. Many of their leaders are spellcasters and as a result spellcasters rarely leave their home territories to adventure, instead navigating the halls of poltical power. Above the waves, human fishermen inhabit several of the islands as do several pirate hideouts so the Fisher, Sailor, Smuggler and Pirate backgrounds are common for characters of this type. The town of Land’s End is home to rogues of all types from thieves and cut-throats to swashbuckling gamblers. Finally there are the reclusive Tortle tribes. Their xenophobia would usually preclude them from the adventuring life, on very rare occasions they may either hire out as muscle, sign onto pirate crews or otherwise find themselves beyond their home islands. In these cases they are almost universally Berserkers or very occasionally druids.
