In a way, the elementalist and sorcerer classes are very similar; both of them focus heavily on raw magical power, and in both cases it tends to come from within. Mechanically, there’s not a huge amount of inherent synergy, as the classes use differing spellcasting mechanisms (though you can at least sync up the spellcasting ability score), but there’s some synergy among the features. Conceptually and on a flavor level, this pairing feels very fitting indeed.
A stronger focus on elementalist will make for a physically tougher character that relies primarily on their elemental blast in combat and can pull a few unexpected arcane tricks out of their sleeve when the circumstances call for it. A more sorcerer-focused build gives you a spellcasting powerhouse with a “super cantrip” in the form of the elementalist’s elemental blast to fall back on and some interesting capabilities from the adaptations. An even mix is perhaps a rarer character type, but grants access to a wide-ranging spectrum of magical and elemental capabilities.
