This comes with all the usual mechanical issues of mixing a points-based, short-rest caster with a slot-based, long-rest one. However, you’ll have better weapon and armor access than some of the mixes on offer, even before considering pact boons or archetype features. You can also set both your cleric and warlock casting abilities to Wisdom, eliminating the need to focus on two different casting ability scores.
From a flavor standpoint, this is an odd combination. It is implied, though not outright stated, that the patron relationships that provide the power source for both a cleric and a warlock are intended to be exclusive, with the patron providing power to the character in exchange for that character advancing the interests of the patron. Depending on the setting and cosmology in a particular game, that can vary, of course. The same entity may be able to provide both cleric and warlock levels, and there’s also the possibility of a cleric bargain with a god and a warlock bargain with one of that god’s agents like an archangel or fiend. Still, the “default” if there can be such a thing for a pairing like this is one of divided loyalties.
Both classes are spellcasters, so the mix will primarily determine whether you’re focused on long-rest slot-based casting (more cleric) or short-rest points-based casting (more warlock). An even mix can be fun, but loses out on the top-tier powers and spells and may struggle at higher levels.
