While all summoners summon spirits and other beings from the beyond to perform magical feats on their behalf, some are not content in that. They want more. These binders further refine their talents, and become specialists in binding such beings to their will, extending the length of their service, and allowing them to control and issue commands to such beings when found in the wild without needing to summon them themselves, forcibly bending them to their will. In doing so, they have also learned to harden their own wills against such interference. Though not innately malicious, such summoners do tend to be power hungry and more prone to exploiting those they summon for personal gain.
### Voice of Command (3rd level)
Starting at 3rd level, you have gained the ability to issue commands to summoned creatures, whether or not you summoned them. You may cast the *[command](https://a5e.tabletopbytheik.nl/compendium/spells/command)* spell a number of times equal to their proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses on a long rest. You may only target [aberrations, celestials, elementals, fey, or fiends](https://a5e.tools/rules/introduction-monsters) with this spell.
Creatures of the type chosen for your Summon Specialty have disadvantage on the saving throw.
Finally you have an expertise die on saving throws against charm, possession, or any ability that cannot affect creatures immune to the charm condition.
### Spirit Binder (6th level)
At 6th level, you have become a specialist in the long term binding of spirits to your will. You may cast the rare *[star sign planar binding](https://a5e.tabletopbytheik.nl/compendium/spells/star_sign_planar_binding)* once per long rest. Creatures of the type chosen for your Summon Specialization type have disadvantage on the save.
In addition, when you cast *[blood-writ bargain](https://a5e.tabletopbytheik.nl/compendium/spells/blood_writ_bargain)* as a ritual using lesser conjuration, you cast it at a level equal to half your summoner level rounded up, maximum of 9th level.
### Improved Voice of Command (14th level)
Starting at 14th level, you have gained greater ability to command others. You may cast the *[charm monster](https://a5e.tabletopbytheik.nl/compendium/spells/charm_monster)* spell once per short or long rest. You may only target [aberrations, celestials, elementals, fey, or fiends](https://a5e.tools/rules/introduction-monsters) with this spell. Creatures of the type chosen for your Summon Specialty have disadvantage on the saving throw and you bypass any immunity to charm they might have. Once per long rest, you may expend a use of this ability to cast the *[dominate monster](https://a5e.tabletopbytheik.nl/compendium/spells/dominate_monster)* spell instead. In addition, by tapping into a portion of the underlying connections between all living things your commands have gained the ability to transcend their normal limits. When you cast a *command* spell using Voice of Command, you may target any appropriate creature regardless of type, but if you target a creature other than an aberration, fiend, celestial, elemental, or fey they have advantage on the save.
Finally, when you cast the *planar binding* spell from Spirit Binder it is cast at 7th level.
### Iron Will (18th level)
At 18th level you have unlocked and crafted the ultimate means of binding spirits to your service. You gain an *[iron flask](https://a5e.tabletopbytheik.nl/compendium/items/iron_flask)*. Creatures of the type chosen for your Summon Specialty have disadvantage on the saving throw against being captured in the *flask*, and you may do so even if they are on their native plane. Furthermore, you can identify the creature trapped in any *iron flask* without needing to open it by studying it over a short rest, and the DC for any *iron flask* you operate is equal to your spell save DC or the standard DC, whichever is higher.
When you cast the *planar binding* spell from Spirit Binder it is cast at 9th level.
Finally, you gain an expertise die on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws.
